ARROWPOINT NATURE RESORT OVERNIGHT

 Arrowpoint Nature Resort is named after the many Arrow Trees found in the area, which is used by the Amerindians to make their arrows for hunting. The Resort itself is set against the backdrop of the Rainforest which is a haven for birdwatchers and nature lover since there is an abundance of wildlife including 350 species of birds. There is also a maze of jungle trails used for Nature Walks and Mountain Biking. In the foreground is a stretch of white sandy beach sloping gently into the refreshing cool black waters of the Pokerero Creek.

Experience the thrill and adventure of:

  • Hiking or mountain biking along the maze of jungle trails aback the resort.
  • Bird-watching; traditional fishing
  • Aquatic activities – including surf-biking; kayaking; pedal-boating
  • Wabani Expedition – re-tracing the steps of our fore parents. Conducted tour into the forest to Lucky Seed Landing then kayaking back to the resort through Alligator Alley.
  • Creatures of the Night Expedition – Experience a different scenario with nature using headlight in search for wildlife that is not usually seen at day time
  • Exploring the smaller jungle creeks by canoe with our experienced Amerindian guides.
  • Side tour to Santa Mission - our host community for craft and cultural interpretation; and souvenir shopping

Day 1

Bus departs Roraima Residence Inn at 13:00 to arrive at the Marina at 13:45; you will board our boat for a 40 minutes trip to Santa Mission Amerindian Reservation where you will be able to purchase hand- made craft. After 40 minutes you will re-board the boat for a 15 minutes trip to Arrowpoint Nature Resort where you will be greeted by our friendly staff offering a welcome drink. You will then be briefed on the history and safety of the resort while enjoying some snacks. After you have been shown to your accommodations, you will be able to relax and enjoy the sound of the birds returning for the evening and watch the sun set etc. Moonlight dinner will be served buffet style on the beach around the bon-fire.

Day 2

Awake to the beautiful sound of the birds chirping, you have the choice of sleeping in, going bird watching for the spectacular Crimson Topaz (see them lek - a gathering of males, of certain animal species, for the purposes of competitive mating display) or going fishing with our guides. Breakfast is served on the veranda at 07:30. After breakfast you can relax in the cool water or sunbathe and at 11:00 we will take you on our Wabani Expedition, on your return a fabulous buffet lunch awaits you. If you wish after lunch we offer various levels of mountain biking (ask tour coordinator) or simply relax on the beach. At 15:30 our staff will demonstrate the cassava bread making Amerindian style and you will be able to taste the bread when finished.
