Kaieteur/Arrowpoint Overnight
Guyana 4 Nights
Day 2 – Kaieteur/Arrowpoint: At 07:15hrs and after an early morning breakfast travel to Ogle Airport where you will board our plane for a 1 hr 5 minutes flight to Kaieteur. You will spend 2 hrs on the ground viewing the Falls from various angles before departing for Timehri Airport and then onto our Arrowpoint Resort Nature Resort where you will be greeted by our friendly staff offering a welcome drink. After lunch and after you have been shown to your accommodations, you will then be briefed on the history and safety of the resort. Relax and enjoy the sound of the birds returning for the evening and watch the sun set etc. The Creatures of the Night Expedition is conducted after dinner - a night walk on the nearby trails and a boat ride gives an opportunity to observe animals that is not usually seen in the day. Accommodation; Breakfast, Lunch & Dinner Day 3 - Arrowpoint Resort - Awake to the beautiful sound of the birds chirping, you have the choice of sleeping in, going bird watching or going fishing with our guides. Breakfast is served on the verandah at 07:30. After breakfast you can relax in the cool water or sunbathe and at 10:30hrs we will take you on our Wabani Expedition, on your return a fabulous buffet lunch awaits you. If you wish after lunch we offer various levels of mountain biking (ask tour coordinator) or simply relax on the beach. Arrive at Duke Lodge at 16:30 hrs and spend the final night before returning to country of origin. It would have been our pleasure to have you and hope you would leave with lasting memories. Guyana 5 Nights Day 1 – After you arrive in GEO – Check in at the Roraima Duke Lodge – Boutique hotel where you will spend the first night. Accommodation.
After 2 hours on the ground – after which you will then be transfer by plane to Iwokrama – for lunch. Nature Tours will allow the visitor intimate contact with the diverse ecosystems within the Iwokrama Forest. Day 3 – Turtle Mountain/Kurupukari Petroglyph
Learn more about the delicate balance between the communities and the natural resources. See the plant and animal life through the eyes of the people who have depended on the natural resources for the past number of centuries. Day 5 – Rock View: Visit the community of Annai in the latter evening for an opportunity to purchase Mukushi handicraft or go horseback riding before returning to the lodge. Day 1 – After you arrive in GEO – Check in at our Heritage Hotel Roraima Duke Lodge – Boutique hotel where you will spend the first night. Accommodation.
You depart Arrowpoint at 14:00hrs for Santa Mission where you will have a chance to purchase handicraft from the Community Craft Centre. Depart Santa Mission at 14:45 hrs for the Marina. Breakfast & Lunch
Day 2 – Kaieteur/Iwokrama: Depart Ogle Aerodrome at 08:00hrs for your 1 hr flight to Kaieteur. Amerindian legend of the Patamona tribe has it that “Kai” one of the tribe’s chiefs (after whom the falls is named) committed self sacrifice by canoeing himself over the falls. Amerindian legend has it that “Kaie” a great old chieftain committed self-sacrifice by canoeing himself over the falls in order that “Makonaima”, the great sprit, would save the tribe from being destroyed by the savage Caribisi.
Day 4 Iwokrama Canopy/Rock View: Start your day the Guyanese way, with breakfast of “bakes and salt-fish” followed by the Canopy Expedition. The Canopy Walkway is a series of suspension bridges and decks of up to 30 meters in height and 154 meters in length, located in the Iwokrama Forest. It gives visitors a new view of the mid and upper canopy of the forest and allows wildlife to be relatively free from human intrusion. The 1hr journey to the Iwokrama Canopy entails traveling by boat back to the Kurupukari Crossing and then by 4X4 vehicle to Musiparui Camp and the Atta Rainforest Lodge. After 2 hrs at the Canopy continue the journey to Annai – Rock View Lodge.
